Of course, it is also time to think about your wardrobe change, and what you need to prepare for those cooler evenings as we roll into winter. One of the consummate clothing items for fall and winter is a sweater. Sweaters are fashionable, practical and frankly, look fabulous!

Spring Cleaning, Don’t Forget Your Winter Clothes

The weather is warm, the trees are green, and it’s time to put your summer wardrobe front and center. But what about those winter clothes? When you are switching out your clothes, remember that the key to maintaining your winter wardrobe is to have items professionally cleaned and stored properly. What does that entail?

First, make sure that your dry cleaner has knowledge of the various fabric cleaning requirements. You don’t want to trust your expensive winter clothing to just anyone. Second, make sure you have an option to store the clothing in appropriate bags. Choosing to store your winter clothes in the garment film bags typically provided can be disastrous. Why?

Standard garment film bags used by dry cleaners contain the anti-oxidant butylated hydroxyl tolune (BHT). When BHT comes in contact with impurities in the air and then meets the moisture in your clothes, it can form a yellow stain that will transfer to the fabric. Choosing to leave them in the standard bags can cause mildew and staining. Therefore, you should remove your clothing from the garment film and dispose of them properly, such as through our recycling program.

So what options do you have when you want to store clothing for a season? Bibbentuckers utilizes specialty bags that are designed for storing garments. Byron Nelson’s Legacy

The HP Byron Nelson Championship celebrates the life and legacy of Byron Nelson, who said of the tournament “This tournament is the best thing that’s ever happened to me in golf. Better than winning the Masters or the U.S. Open or eleven in a row. Because it helps people.”

Byron Nelson - great golfer, humanitarian and all around good guy – is known for the greatest single season in the history of the game. His 1945 season is considered the least attainable record not only in golf, but in sports. In fact, he is the player that is most often compared to a machine because of his consistent swing. When the USGA developed a mechanical device for testing golf balls and clubs, they named it “Iron Byron” because its swing was perfect every time, just like Byron Nelson’s.

Mr. Nelson was only the second golfer to receive the PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. In addition to his many accolades, he was posthumously awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in 2006.

After donning special gloves we use for handling your dress, our team inspects the dress with you to identify any stains or damage, and review typical problem areas, like hem lines.

Step Two – Cleaning

Your dress now goes to our specialty cleaning department. After performing a second visual inspection, our cleaning team will take a black light and examine your wedding dress for hidden stains.
