Attitudes & Attire®
Attitudes & Attire® is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting personal growth for women seeking self-sufficiency. The program provides tools that raise self-esteem, promote ethics, and thus, build the confidence necessary to develop successful life skills. The vision is to build confidence and change lives for women.
Founded by Lyn Berman in 1996, this great charity addresses areas not traditionally covered in workplace training including raising self-esteem and providing work-appropriate attire. Since inception, more than 22,000 women have acquired tools to build the confidence they need to succeed. We offer three programs: Core Program (Self-Esteem and Job Readiness Workshops), Hopeful Smiles™ (Restorative Dental Program) and Boots to Heels℠ (Women Veterans Program).
Upon completing the workshops, each participant selects workplace appropriate clothing that includes a suit, blouse, jewelry, scarf, handbag, and shoes. Furthermore, shopping in the beautiful Attitudes & Attire® boutique is the icing on the cake.
One of the charity’s clients, Angelette, recently had a job interview. She used the skills she learned in the workshops and wore her new interview outfit. She got the job! After completing her first day at her new job, she received a promotion! Because of Attitudes & Attire®, Angelette said it gave her the confidence she needed, and the dress “sealed the deal”!
